Choosing Your Home Inspectors

As important as it is to save money, don’t let cost be the deciding factor in who you choose to do your Home Inspection. There are many companies to choose from and many things to consider in making your choice. Do an internet search, ask family, friends and your Realtor for referrals. Then check out the companies website. When you call, don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Is the inspector Licensed?

What are the inspector’s qualifications?

Does the company carry professional E&O insurance?

How long will the inspection take?

Is the client allowed to attend the inspection and ask questions?

When and how will the report be delivered?

Is there a trip charge?

And, of course, how much will the inspection cost?

Spend some time talking to the inspector that will be inspecting your home. A lot can be said for the way you feel while you are chatting. A certain level of trust can be determined by simply taking that time. It is not an imposition. It is, in our opinion, time well spent for both the client and the inspector.
